The MAGIC HEAD PLUS made by Franco Cottarelli is extremely versatile because it allows you to tie your artificial flies on hooks of any size with maximum efficiency. It has been designed as a universal pliers and allows you to range from small dry flies to large streamers without having to replace the head.
SMALL HOOKS:
Small hooks are easily fixed to the tip of the pliers.
MEDIUM HOOKS:
For medium sized hooks a small housing has been created inside the jaws of the pliers that allows you to immobilize the hook very effectively.
LARGE HOOKS:
The large hooks should be placed at the bottom of the pliers, where there are 2 extra steel plates that offer a double point of support to the curvature of the hook. This will allow you to get the maximum stability without necessarily having to tighten the jaws of the pliers too strongly, with the risk of damaging hooks that on such important measures can also be very expensive.
To move the jaws of the pliers you have to turn the gold wheel and to fix the hook firmly you only need to apply very little force. This wheel is wrapped with 2 silicone rings which guarantee an optimal grip with your fingers.
Another strong point of the MAGIC HEAD PLUS is that it is provided with countless adjustment possibilities, allowing you to always position the hook in the most comfortable position depending on the type of artificial you are tying. Thanks to the two joints, adjustable through the special Allen wrench, you will be able to rotate the hook on its axis even if it should be large, moreover the pliers are free to rotate 360 degrees.
A less fundamental aspect but that you can't help but notice is the design, original and modern with a really captivating combination of black and gold colours. As in all the products made by Franco Cottarelli, the quality is excellent and the materials used are hardened steel and brass.
Cottarelli's MAGIC HEAD PLUS is compatible with the Standard base and the Travel base. It cannot be mounted on the Pocket model.
